Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue...This rescue currently has a huge project going on in Texas.  They are in the process of trying to rescue over 200 wild burros from Big Bend Ranch State Park.

Unwanted Horse Coalition... has a Nationwide Online Directory of facilities that accept horses! The mission of the Unwanted Horse Coalition is to reduce the number of unwanted horses and to improve their welfare through education and the efforts of organizations committed to the health, safety, and responsible care and disposition of these horses.
